The contract for the 2024-25 Premier League qualifiers is complete after Sunday’s play-off match was played at Wembley Stadium.
Southampton, which has a long history in the Premier League, met with another giant, Leeds United, in the match that is considered the most expensive in the world, with profits for the winner and qualifier exceeding 100 million euros.
Southampton succeeded in achieving victory with an unanswered goal signed by Adam Armstrong, and with it ensured a return to the senior ranks only one year after being relegated to the Premiership.
Southampton will join the other directly promoted duo, Premiership champions Leicester City and runners-up Ipswich Town, to complete the 20 clubs in the Premier League next season.
It is noteworthy that the trio relegated from the Premier League this season are Burnley, Sheffield United, and Luton Town, and coincidentally, they are the same ones who were promoted from the Premier League last year.
