Officially.. Zamalek announces the renewal of the contract of its star

Zamalek officially announced the renewal of the contract of its star Mohamed Awad for another 3 years.

The Egyptian goalkeeper’s contract with the White Castle had already expired at the end of the last season, and there was a great deal of controversy surrounding whether or not he would continue.

According to Egyptian media, Awad agreed to a significant reduction in his salary in line with the club’s economic circumstances, and then his contract was renewed.

Thus, Zamalek will not look for a new goalkeeper in the current summer Mercato in Egypt, and will be satisfied with the presence of Awad alongside Mohamed Sobhi and young goalkeeper Mahmoud El-Shennawy.

It is worth noting that the 32-year-old goalkeeper joined Zamalek in 2019, and since then he has achieved a number of achievements, most notably the Egyptian League title twice and the Confederation Cup title.
