Ole Gunnar Solskjaer returns to coaching through a surprising club

After a long absence from the world of coaching, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has completed his agreement with a new club to take over the leadership in the coming period.

Sky Network confirmed that Solskjaer signed for the Turkish club Besiktas, and will officially start his work in the coming hours.

Besiktas’ first choice was to contract with former Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac, and indeed negotiations were advanced between the two parties, before the Croatian rejected the offer presented to him.

The officials of the giant Turkish club turned to Solskjaer, who rejected many offers over 4 years, but finally agreed to return to coaching again.

Solskjaer took over the training of Manchester United after Jose Mourinho in 2019, and continued in his position until he was dismissed in 2021.

Solskjaer did not achieve any notable achievements with United except for the historic comeback against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, and reaching the Europa League final.

It is worth noting that Solskjaer’s mission will not be easy with Besiktas, as the club is suffering this season on various levels, and there is no better evidence of this than its sixth place in the Turkish League.
