Paris Saint-Germain under UEFA sanctions over Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain is at risk of being subject to heavy sanctions from the European Football Association “UEFA” over Kylian Mbappe.

The French club has so far refused to pay Mbappe’s overdue dues, which exceed 55 million euros, in the case currently being heard in various courts.

The French League had acknowledged Mbappe’s right to the money and demanded that Paris Saint-Germain pay, then rejected the appeal submitted.

Paris then turned to the French Federation, which also supported Mbappe, and the last option for PSG was the legal court in Paris, while Mbappe turned to a higher appeal body within the French Federation to force the club to give him the money.

So far, the Paris Saint-Germain management has not paid Mbappe’s money and is awaiting the ruling of the Paris court, but the French club must provide evidence to UEFA that it has paid all its players’ dues before January 15.

According to the newspaper “L’Equipe”, UEFA will have to impose sanctions on Paris Saint-Germain if Mbappe’s position is confirmed and that he did not receive his dues before January 15.

These sanctions are partly financial, and another part may reach the deprivation of European participation, or the team participating in the Europa League rather than the Champions League.

Paris is counting on this issue being sensitive, especially since Nasser Al-Khelaifi holds the position of President of the European Club Association, and UEFA will not try to anger him at least for the time being.

However, all options remain wide open, and it is clear that Paris Saint-Germain’s legal position is weak despite the confidence that Al-Khelaifi shows in this case.
