It has become very likely that the date of the Al-Ahly and Inter Miami match at Hard Rock Stadium will be changed in the opening match of the 2025 Club World Cup.
The World Cup draw, which was held on Thursday, resulted in Al-Ahly being placed with Lionel Messi’s teammates, along with Palmeiras and Porto in Group A.
The opening match between Al-Ahly and Inter Miami was scheduled to take place on June 15, 2025 at 12:00 noon US time, or 7:00 pm Egyptian time.
However, in the last hours, an idea has grown within the International Federation of Football Association to change the date so that the opening match will be held alone on this day and at a time that is more in line with American fans.
FIFA intends to move the match to June 14, 2025, and kick off at 8:00 pm US time, or 3:00 am Egyptian time.
The organizers are keen to ensure a full audience for the competition, with the intention of holding a grand opening ceremony, so it is best for the match to be late and without other matches on the same day.
