Postecoglou: Salah couldn’t succeed at Tottenham!

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has heavily criticized his team, to the point where he believes that Mohamed Salah, despite his incredible abilities, couldn’t succeed with the Spurs due to the collective level of the London club.

Tottenham is experiencing a clear decline, having lost 3 of their last 4 matches and currently sitting in 12th place in the Premier League with only 24 points from 20 rounds.

Tottenham is preparing to face Liverpool in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday, and Postecoglou spoke about his team’s issues, particularly their collective performance, using Salah as an example.

The Australian coach said, “We need a cohesive team that creates chances and has a solid defensive foundation. Tottenham doesn’t have any of that at the moment.”

He added, “Mohamed Salah is a world-class player, but if he were in our team right now, he couldn’t perform at the same level because of our collective situation.”

Postecoglou concluded, “We are currently relying on individual moments. I think if Son were playing at Liverpool right now, his goal-scoring output would be phenomenal.”

Salah scored two goals in the last meeting between Tottenham and Liverpool last month, which ended in a 6-3 victory for the Reds in London.
