A Paris Saint-Germain spokesman denied reports circulating about a strong quarrel that broke out between club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Kylian Mbappe before the last match in Toulouse.
Le Parisien newspaper had revealed that Al-Khelaifi met Mbappe at the Parc des Princes stadium and asked him why his name was not mentioned in the video in which the player announced his departure from PSG.
The matter reportedly developed into a violent verbal clash between the duo, which one eyewitness described as being so intense that “the walls of the stadium shook.”
After the news spread like wildfire, Paris Saint-Germain responded on Radio Monte Carlo, with the French club’s spokesman saying, “It is unfortunate that there was false news circulated tonight.”
He also added, “There are no differences between Mbappe and Al-Khelaifi. On the contrary, they have met a lot in the past period to put the final touches on the player’s departure.”
He concluded, “All the meetings that took place between the two parties were respectful and constructive, and the meeting that preceded the Toulouse match was not much different from that.”
