Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan national team, announced that his country would like Brahim Diaz to participate with the Olympic team in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Real Madrid had previously sent a letter to the French Football Federation informing it that it would not allow any player from its ranks to leave in the summer to participate in the Olympics.
France would have liked to obtain Aurelien Chouamini and Ferland Mendy, in addition to the expected newcomer Kylian Mbappe, and the Federation President announced that he would negotiate again with Real Madrid in this regard.
It seems that a new party has entered the line, which is Morocco, as there is a great desire for Brahim Diaz to be present in the “Atlas Lions” jersey at the Olympics, which increases the “headache” in the head of the Florentino Perez administration.
“If Brahim wants and Real Madrid agrees, we want him to participate with us in the Olympics,” Regragui said in the press conference for the friendly match between Angola.
Diaz cannot participate in the Olympics without Real Madrid’s approval, given that the competition is not on FIFA’s agenda and the club has the right to ban its players however it wants.
It remains to be noted that Morocco fell into a difficult group in the Olympics, along with the Argentine national team, the Ukrainian national team, and an Asian national team, whose identity will be known after the AFC U-23 Cup next April.
