The Marcus Rashford series and his future have ended, after he completed the agreement with Aston Villa to move to them in the current winter Mercato.
The English international had completely left the calculations of Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim, to the point that the Portuguese said he was ready to include the goalkeeping coach instead of him.
Rashford has been linked with many clubs since then, most notably Barcelona, but the Catalan club withdrew from the deal due to its financial crisis.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa will include Rashford on loan until the end of the season from Manchester United.
The loan contract includes a clause that gives Unai Emery’s squad the right to buy Rashford if they want next summer for 40 million pounds.
If Aston Villa activates this clause, Rashford will then sign a 3-and-a-half-year contract at Villa Park.
It is noteworthy that Aston Villa will bear 70% of Rashford’s salary during the loan period, while Manchester United will pay 30%.
Aston Villa’s contract with the 27-year-old replaces Colombian John Duran, who recently moved to Saudi Al-Nassr for 70 million euros.
