Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has denied a report that he has “stepped up his efforts to leave” the club during the January transfer window.
Rashford announced last month that he would leave Manchester United this year, insisting he is “ready” for a new challenge away from Old Trafford for the first time in his career.
The Sun reported on Wednesday morning that Rashford has “stepped up his efforts to leave” Manchester United this winter by entering into talks with a leading sports agency in the hope of leaving the Red Devils this month.
Rashford responded to the news with an Instagram post that read: “There have been a lot of false stories in the last few weeks but guys this is getting ridiculous – I haven’t met with any agencies and I don’t plan to.”
The 27-year-old has been heavily criticised for his poor form under Erik ten Hag and later Ruben Amorim.
The England international shone during the 2022/23 season, scoring 30 goals for Manchester United in all competitions, before collapsing badly in the last year and a half, to the point of being excluded from Amorim in 4 consecutive matches for United, then being returned to the list while keeping him on the bench in the last match against Newcastle.
