Joshua Kimmich has agreed to renew his contract with Bayern Munich, bringing an end to a two-year series about his future with the Bavarian club.
Kimmich has already attracted the attention of several major European clubs, most notably the Spanish football giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
According to Bild, Kimmich has reached an initial agreement with Bayern Munich regarding the renewal, and the only difference currently is over some numbers and is close to being resolved.
Real Madrid in particular was the most interested in the German international recently, but now it has realized that the player wants to stay at Bayern and has completely exited the deal.
Barcelona counted on Kimmich’s contract to expire this summer, and then the management will move to sign him for free in line with the difficult economic situation at Camp Nou, especially in light of the strong relationship between the player and the Catalan club’s coach Hansi Flick.
Ultimately, the 29-year-old decided not to leave the Bundesliga, especially since he has been enjoying a period of brilliance and stability at Bayern Munich since Vincent Kompany arrived to coach the southern giant, in addition to the fact that the German club will not reduce his salary upon renewal, contrary to expectations.
Kimmich has participated with Bayern Munich in 35 matches this season in all competitions, during which he scored one goal and made 10 others.
