Real Madrid chooses Laporte to replace Militao.. and a single obstacle

Laporte to replace Militao in Real Madrid

Real Madrid management has no other choice but to enter the winter transfer market to support the center-back position after Eder Militao suffered a cruciate ligament tear and the end of his season.

Real Madrid currently only has Antonio Rudiger and rising player Raul Asensio in the center-back position, and David Alaba is still recovering from his injury.

Real Madrid wants to sign Aymeric Laporte

Relevo network revealed that the name that is strongly circulating within the Santiago Bernabeu to replace Militao currently is Al-Nassr defender, Aymeric Laporte.

The Spanish defender was previously linked to Real Madrid next summer, but the royal club did not intensify negotiations and preferred to be satisfied with the players it had at the time.

Laporte’s name is back to the forefront again, as Real officials believe that he is the best option given his experience in La Liga and the distinguished levels he previously presented with Manchester City.

Al Nassr is the only obstacle to Real Madrid signing Laporte

The task of signing Laporte will never be easy for Real Madrid, and the reason for that is his club, Al-Nassr.

The 30-year-old’s contract with Al-Nassr still extends for two more years, and his club does not intend to give him up for free or at a cheap price next winter.

According to the newspaper “Marca”, Al-Nassr will not give up selling Laporte for less than 30 million euros, which is completely inconsistent with Real Madrid’s recruitment policy.

The Merengue management will not pay even half of this value for a player over 30 years old, which made “Marca” expect that Laporte will not be the desired defender in January.

Another candidate name for Real Madrid

The “Marca” report indicates that Real Madrid wants to sign Leipzig defender Cacello Lukeba, 21 years old.

The management believes that a defender with these capabilities and given his age, deserves to be paid a large value, instead of going for temporary solutions for older players.

It remains to be noted here that Lukeba’s contract with Leipzig still extends until the summer of 2029, and there is a penalty clause in it of more than 60 million euros.
