Real Madrid is close to finalizing its first winter deal, as it is close to signing Leganes defender Lamini Fati.
However, Fati will not join the first team of the royal club, but will play with the reserve team led by Raul Gonzalez and the under-19 team led by Alvaro Arbeloa, and he is considered for promotion in the future to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
The 18-year-old is a left-footed player who plays in the center-back position, and was the focus of attention of many Spanish clubs, most notably Valencia, before he decided to continue with Leganes.
Fati has attracted Real Madrid’s attention since a friendly match in the summer of 2024, and the Merengue have now moved to sign him and are working to conclude the deal in the winter Mercato, instead of waiting until next summer.
According to the “Relevo” network, the deal will cost Real Madrid 100,000 euros.
Real Madrid hope that Fati will quickly add to the Castilla team in particular to save it from relegation, and continue to develop until he is promoted to the first team, as happened to Raul Asensio this season.
