Marca newspaper reported that Real Madrid’s management has decided to withdraw from the race to sign Franco Mastrantuono, River Plate player.
Argentine media had previously confirmed that Mastrantuono was very close to wearing the Royal Club shirt.
However, according to the latest report, the leaks that occurred about the deal to the media led to a bid on the player’s price, which greatly angered Real Madrid’s management.
For this reason, Florentino Perez saw that Real Madrid should take a step back and rule out signing Mastrantuono instead of entering into a bid in which the club’s name is exploited.
River Plate’s management tried again through intermediaries to convince Real Madrid’s management to complete the deal, but the Spanish club’s position was clear in refusing to sign the player.
Mastrantuono was left with two options, either to move to Manchester United or Barcelona, with the value of 45 million euros, which is the value of the penalty clause in his contract with River Plate.
