Real Madrid made a more than wonderful gesture, which is honoring the legend Marcelo at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium before the start of the Atletico Madrid match on Saturday.
The Brazilian player announced his retirement from football last Thursday after a career full of achievements, and Real Madrid remains the most prominent experience in Marcelo’s career, after he played there from 2007 to 2022 and achieved 15 titles.
With his announcement of retirement, the Merengue management summoned Marcelo to the Bernabeu, and decided to celebrate him in front of the fans and before a big match like the Madrid derby.
Marcelo entered the stadium before the start of the match, where the fans in the stadium applauded him loudly, as did the Real Madrid players.
Marcelo seemed very affected by this moment, and was presented with a frame bearing a picture of his historic shirt with Real, and took a picture on the pitch before leaving amidst warm applause from the fans.
