Real Madrid will not soon get the chance to introduce Kylian Mbappe to their fans at the Santiago Bernabeu, causing great frustration for Florentino Pérez’s management.
The French international’s transfer to Real Madrid has become a matter of time after he agreed with the Royal Club on all the details, waiting for his contract to expire at the end of this season with Paris Saint-Germain.
According to AS newspaper, Real Madrid was initially planning to present Mbappé in a huge ceremony in the period between the end of the current season and the start of Euro 2024.
But Mbappe’s “appointments” and connections logically prevent this and postpone this step at least until the end of July or the beginning of next August.
Real Madrid’s season ends on May 26, while Paris Saint-Germain’s season ends on the 18th of the same month, while the Champions League final will be played in early June.
The fact that either Real Madrid or PSG could be in the final makes it difficult to set a date at the beginning of June, and then the national team season enters and completely destroys the Spanish club’s hopes.
Euro 2024 is scheduled to start in mid-June, and thus Mbappe will be with the France national team two weeks before that, according to FIFA regulations, which prevents him from being in Spain in the first place.
Given all of the above, Real Madrid will postpone the celebration of its huge deal until the beginning of August, specifically after the team returns from its usual friendly tour in the United States.
This date may change in one way or another in one case, which is if Mbappe plays the Olympics with France, in which case he will not return before mid-August and his presentation to the fans will be delayed again.
