Former Real Madrid star, Joselu, hoped that the match between Spain and Germany in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals would be Toni Kroos’s last in the world of football.
The Royal Club added Joselu to its list of legends on its official website, days after he joined the Qatari club Al-Gharafa for 1.5 million euros.
Kroos is also on the list of Real Madrid legends, and he is competing in his last competition before retiring, and Joselu hopes that Spain will win and thus the German’s career will end.
“I hope this is the last match for Toni Kroos,” Joselu said in the press conference.
He also added, “It is not a special match just because he is here, but we are competing in the quarter-finals in the Euro against a great team.”
He concluded, “We hope that we can eliminate Kroos on Friday. My relationship with him is very good. We always talked and he gave me advice. It was a pleasure to play with him.”
It is noteworthy that Joselu only participated in 72 minutes during this Euro with Spain, when he played against Albania in the last round of the group stage, and he is not expected to participate against Germany, at least as a starter, on Friday.
