Real Madrid open to selling Lunin, sets price and potential replacement

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid is now open to selling Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin during the current summer transfer window.

Lunin’s contract expires in the summer of 2025, and he has yet to respond positively or negatively to the offer of a four-year extension.

Lunin has made it clear that he wants to stay at Real Madrid, but he also wants to play regularly, which is difficult to achieve with Thibaut Courtois in the squad.

Given Lunin’s hesitation about his future, Marca reports that Real Madrid has informed the player that the door is open for him to leave, especially as the club’s policy is clear in rejecting hesitation and procrastination.

The administration of Florentino Perez has set a price tag of 30 million euros for Lunin’s move to any interested club, with the intention of buying Kepa from Chelsea to be the backup goalkeeper for Courtois.

The Spanish goalkeeper has rejected several lucrative offers in recent times due to his ambition to stay at Real Madrid after his loan spell at the Santiago Bernabeu last year.

Chelsea is reportedly the most interested club in signing Lunin recently, and it is said that an agreement between the London club and the player is imminent, after which negotiations with Real Madrid will begin.
