Real Madrid settles on alternative to support center-back after Yoro deal fails

Real Madrid’s management has settled on the identity of the chosen center-back to sign to support Carlo Ancelotti’s squad this summer after the failure to sign Lenny Yoro from Lille.

The 18-year-old was the first choice for Los Blancos, but the player decided to move to Manchester United after the big offer made by the English club to Lille.

According to “AS” newspaper, Real Madrid’s attention is now turning to the Italian capital, specifically to Lazio, in order to sign Mario Gila to support the center-back.

The 23-year-old player played for Real Madrid’s youth team for a period, then moved to Lazio in the summer of 2022 for 6 million euros.

Los Blancos own 50% of Gila’s selling rights, which makes it much easier to sign him from Lazio at an affordable price.

The only problem is that Gila is suffering from a broken finger injury, but the good news is that this injury will not prevent him from playing football for long, as he is expected to return in less than a month.

Real Madrid only has Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao in central defense due to David Alaba’s injury and he will not be back before January 2025.

Gila will ensure his presence at the Santiago Bernabeu on a semi-permanent basis if he returns again, which may change his previous opinion at the beginning of the summer when he said that he only wants to continue at Lazio.
