Real Madrid explained in an official statement the nature of the injury that Ferland Mendy suffered in the Girona match on Saturday in the Spanish League.
The French international left the match in the last minutes due to this injury, which Carlo Ancelotti announced after the match that it would cause the player to miss the Atalanta match next Tuesday.
According to Real Madrid’s statement, Mendy is suffering from a muscle injury in his right thigh, and as usual, the royal club did not reveal the expected period of absence.
However, the newspaper “AS”, which is close to Real Madrid, revealed that Mendy will need at least 3 weeks to be able to return and participate in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad matches again.
Accordingly, Mendy will not participate again this year with Real Madrid, and the goal will be to prepare him for the Spanish Super Cup scheduled to start on January 9 in Saudi Arabia.
Ancelotti will have only one option on the left flank, which is Fran Garcia, noting that the Italian coach relied on the promising full-back in the last 3 matches before facing Girona.
