Real Madrid star undergoes surgery… and his season is over!

Marca reported that Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger will undergo surgery that will end his season.

The German star has been suffering from severe knee pain for some time, but due to the lack of available players in the center-back position, he decided to endure it and complete the season.

Rüdiger now faces a lengthy suspension in all Spanish competitions, and he is seeking to take advantage of this by undergoing surgery to relieve the pain that worsened during the recent El Clásico.

The 32-year-old is expected to be suspended for between four and 12 matches in all Spanish domestic competitions, meaning he will not participate in La Liga again this season.

Although the Club World Cup is an important tournament, Rüdiger prefers to undergo surgery now, despite the expectation that it will cause him to miss the rest of his team’s pre-season preparations.

Rüdiger’s injury will leave Real Madrid with limited options at center back, with only David Alaba and Raúl Asensio available, with Aurelien Tchouameni likely to return to midfield.

Eder Militao’s recovery is progressing well, and he is expected to be ready for the Club World Cup unless he finds a new injury.
