The Spanish Football Federation announced changes to the dates of the Spanish Super Cup matches, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia.
These changes come in order to solve the crisis of the Real Madrid vs Valencia match that was postponed due to Hurricane Dana, and amidst a very busy schedule for the Royal Club in particular.
According to Spanish media, the Real Madrid vs Valencia match will be held on January 2, 2025, and will put Los Blancos under great pressure before traveling to Saudi Arabia.
After playing against Valencia at Mestalla, Real Madrid will move to play the round of 32 match in the King’s Cup away from home, and then travel to Saudi Arabia to participate in the Super Cup.
According to the Spanish Federation, the Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao match will be played on January 8, while the Real Madrid vs Mallorca match was postponed to the 9th in order to give the team the opportunity to rest after adding the Valencia match to the schedule.
If Real Madrid succeed in overcoming Mallorca, they will meet the winner of the Barcelona-Bilbao match in the final on January 12. Ancelotti’s squad will play 4 matches in the first 12 days of the new year, which is a huge number that threatens the players’ fitness.
