Arda Guler is perhaps the saddest Real Madrid player, despite the important 1-0 victory over Sevilla in the Spanish League on Sunday.
According to AS newspaper, the Turkish international was warming up before Luka Modric’s goal in the 81st minute.
Ancelotti has already summoned Guler in order to include him in the match. However, the Croatian international’s shell caused the Italian coach to change his mind.
The 18-year-old, who dreams of participating more with Real Madrid, returned to the bench with disappointment evident on his face.
Ancelotti denied after the match that Guler was angry or dissatisfied with this decision. He confirmed his understanding of the needs of the match after Modric’s goal.
The Italian coach continued his speech, “I was planning to play Arda, but after Modric’s goal, I changed my mind. He understood it well, and even if he didn’t understand, nothing would have happened.”
It is noteworthy that Guler did not succeed in participating with Real Madrid until the beginning of the new year due to injuries. Since the beginning of 2024, he has played only 5 matches, most of them as a substitute, with a total of only 92 minutes.
