UEFA has announced the referee for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final match between Real Madrid and Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Bosnian Ervan Belgütü will officiate the highly anticipated clash, his seventh Champions League match of the season.
Belgütü has only officiated one match for Real Madrid in his career, against Leipzig in the first leg of last season’s Round of 16, which Los Blancos won 1-0.
As for Arsenal, he has officiated two Europa League matches in 2020 and 2022, with the Gunners winning both.
Similarly, Swiss referee Sandro Scherer will officiate the match between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, also scheduled for next Tuesday.
Scherer has officiated four matches in the same competition this season, the most recent being the match between Lille and Dortmund in the Round of 16 play-off.
