Reports: A giant English club requests to sign a Saudi player!

Al-Riyadiah newspaper revealed that Aston Villa entered into negotiations with Al Hilal star Saud Abdul Hamid in order to obtain his services in the current summer Mercato.

Saud Abdul Hamid’s contract with Al Hilal still extends until the summer of 2025, which means that Aston Villa needs to negotiate with the Saudi club if it wants to sign the right-back.

The newspaper reported that, as for the player, he does not mind going through this exceptional experience, especially since Aston Villa will participate in the Champions League next season.

After this news spread like wildfire, many journalists denied the validity of what was rumored, as journalist Ahmed Al-Ajlan said that neither the player nor Al-Hilal knew anything about the alleged Aston Villa offer.

Aston Villa is not the first European club linked to a contract with Abdel Hamid, as it was said that Toulouse of France and Panathinaikos of Greece have an interest in signing the player.

It is noteworthy that Sami Al Jaber is the only Saudi who played in the English Premier League, when he moved to Wolverhampton in 2000.
