The Athletic network claimed that the Egyptian national team, led by coach Hossam Hassan, decided to help Mohamed Salah rest with a new decision.
Hossam Hassan excluded Salah from playing in the last match against Mauritania because it was held on an artificial turf pitch, which would have doubled his chances of injury.
Egypt won with a goal by Ibrahim Adel and officially qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to the report, Hossam Hassan is considering not calling up Mohamed Salah to the Egyptian camp during the international break next November, in order to give him some rest.
Practically speaking, the matches against Botswana and Cape Verde are of no importance, which is why Hossam Hassan does not want to add more physical burdens to Salah.
But this decision is likely to spark anger and criticism from the Egyptian press, considering that Egypt has a large number of professional players who also need rest, as well as local players who have practically not had rest due to the cohesion of seasons.
The Egyptian coach is expected to announce his decision on whether the rest will include Salah and the rest of the professional players or only the Liverpool star in the coming few days.
