Reports: Al-Ahly reached an agreement with Achraf Bencharki

Reports from the Egyptian media revealed that Achraf Bencharki is very close to moving to Al-Ahly during the current winter transfer period.

The Moroccan international is currently active with Al-Rayyan, and is seeking to first terminate the contract amicably with the Qatari club, and then join Al-Ahly for free before the end of this month.

Bencharki’s agent and brother, Rashid, were quoted as saying that an agreement has been reached between the player and Al-Ahly, and that all that is currently expected is for the Egyptian club to activate this agreement.

The crisis remains in the negotiations between Bencharki and Al-Rayyan, as Al-Ahly does not intend to pay any money to include the Moroccan, while the Qatari club is still clinging to him and wants him to continue until the end of the season.

If Bencharki succeeds in breaking his ties with Al Rayyan and joining Al Ahly, it will be his second experience in Egyptian football after his very successful experience with Zamalek between 2019 and 2022.

The 30-year-old was close to returning to Zamalek last summer, according to his brother’s confirmation, but the White Knight officials backed down from the financial agreement with the player and negotiations collapsed after that.

Zamalek is Bencharki’s most successful gateway in his career, as he played 109 matches with the White Castle, scoring 41 goals and making 28 others, and he also won the Egyptian League twice, the Egypt Cup twice, the Egyptian Super Cup once, and the African Super Cup once.
