Arsenal were forced to look for options to support the winger position following Bukayo Saka’s injury and long absence from the stadiums, in addition to the other injury that affected his replacement Raheem Sterling.
Saka is expected to be absent for a period ranging between a month and a half to two months, meaning that he will not return before February or March, while Sterling will be away until the last week of January.
Arsenal had no intention of making new contracts in the winter, but the recent situation forced the Gunners’ management to consider the matter, and indeed it seems that the London club has settled on the identity of the player it will try to sign.
According to the “Football Insider” network, Arsenal wants to sign one of the most prominent stars in the Premier League in the last two years, Mohammed Kudus, from West Ham.
As for West Ham, the London club is open to the idea of selling Kudus, but it stipulates obtaining a large sum to agree to his departure in January and not waiting until next summer.
West Ham had signed Kudus for £38m, and initially the club would not let him go for less than £50-60m.
It should be noted that Arsenal is not the only club interested in the Ghanaian international, as Liverpool and Manchester City also want to sign him, but the Gunners want to complete the deal immediately and not wait until the summer.
