Press reports have circulated that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has decided to grant Inter Miami a ticket to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in the United States.
It has been confirmed that 30 clubs out of 32 have participated so far in the Club World Cup in its new format, awaiting the 2024 Copa Libertadores champion and the United States representative.
According to reports, with Inter Miami winning the 2024 MLS Supporters League title, Lionel Messi’s squad has become the most likely to represent America in the Club World Cup.
This speculation is reinforced by recent rumors about Inter Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium hosting the opening match of the Club World Cup, after FIFA announced that the stadium is among 12 American stadiums that will host the competition.
It is noteworthy that, so far, Seattle Sounders is the only American representative in the tournament as the CONCACAF Champions League champion in 2022.
Messi has previously participated in the Club World Cup 3 times with Barcelona, during which he scored 5 goals and won the title in all of them.
