The Sun newspaper reported that Mohamed Salah wants to continue with Liverpool beyond the summer of 2025, but he is demanding a huge salary that is hindering things.
It is assumed that the Reds management recently began negotiations with the Egyptian star to renew his contract, although the player’s messages were worrying that he would most likely leave.
Salah demands a large salary
According to the latest report, Salah stipulates obtaining more than 350 thousand pounds sterling to renew with Liverpool.
Fulfilling this number for a player at the age of 32 is considered contrary to the policy established by Michael Edwards’ management at Liverpool.
At the present moment, the dispute between the two parties is great, and Liverpool is determined to renew with a salary much less than that, while Salah believes that there are many other offers in front of him that can give him astronomical numbers, and that what he offers and can offer in the future deserves to be one of the highest paid in the Premier League because of it.

Salah’s current salary with Liverpool
Salah is the third highest-paid player in the English Premier League, with a weekly salary of up to 400 thousand pounds.
The Egyptian international is only surpassed by Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, and the salary gap between them is not big either.
Another dispute between Salah and Liverpool
In addition to the salary, Salah wants to get a long-term contract with Liverpool, which is not something the Reds’ management prefers either.
The Liverpool management wants Salah to reduce his salary and sign a contract for a maximum of two years, while the player is insisting on getting a contract for at least 3 years.
Salah’s destination after Liverpool
It remains to be noted that Salah has received many offers recently, most notably the generous Saudi offer that will provide him with a salary exceeding 100 million euros annually.
It was said that Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia wants to include Salah as soon as the end of the current season so that he can lead the “Blue Wave” in the Club World Cup, and Ittihad also remains interested in the Egyptian king.
In recent days, it has been said that Barcelona has great interest in signing Salah for free next summer, with him previously linked to giant clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Juventus.
