English media outlets are reporting that Mohamed Salah is close to renewing his contract with Liverpool after reaching a near-agreement with Reds officials on all the details.
The Egyptian international’s contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season, and previous disagreements between him and the club’s management were over the length of the new contract, as well as his desire to receive a higher salary than his current one.
According to One Football, Liverpool offered Salah a two-year contract renewal, which was accepted by the player and his agent. The two parties also reached a compromise regarding the 32-year-old’s new salary.
The “Egyptian King” was keen to be a little flexible in the negotiations due to his desire to continue with Liverpool, especially since his relationship with coach Arne Slot and his teammates is at its peak. He is also highly regarded by the fans at Anfield and is treated like a legend.
Salah had received offers from the Saudi League, but the player never even expressed his implicit acceptance. The Egyptian international has also been linked with several major European clubs, most recently Paris Saint-Germain.
Salah has participated in 44 matches with Liverpool this season in all competitions, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists. He is the Premier League’s top scorer and the player with the most goal contributions in the top five leagues.
