Reports: Real Madrid withdraw from a huge summer deal!

The Athletic reported that Real Madrid are about to withdraw from the deal for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz due to its high value.

Spanish media outlets have confirmed that Wirtz is the first target for the royal club next summer, and that the club sees him as the successor to Luka Modric.

Wirtz remains the focus of Florentino Perez’s management, but it has become unlikely that the deal will happen, and the reason behind this is the high demands of Bayer Leverkusen’s management.

The German club will not allow the 21-year-old to leave unless it is worth at least 100 million euros, a figure that Real Madrid’s management does not intend to pay under any circumstances.

Bayern Munich remains the closest destination for Wirtz, after Bavarian club officials have repeatedly confirmed their willingness to pay any amount in order to obtain the services of the Leverkusen star.

Real Madrid management hopes that Leverkusen will change its mind in the coming months and agree to a reduced value, although this is unlikely, especially since the player’s contract is still valid until 2027 and has no penalty clauses.

Real Madrid is in the process of contracting Wirtz’s coach and one of the reasons for his talent explosion, Xabi Alonso, to succeed Carlo Ancelotti as coach of the Merengue, and this may play a role in changing things somewhat regarding the player’s future.
