Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the news circulating about Barcelona’s desire to sign Mason Greenwood next summer is completely false.
Greenwood is currently starring with Getafe, on loan for a season from Manchester United, and his future remains up in the air due to the many pressures on him from English newspapers following the famous rape case.
The court had confirmed Greenwood’s innocence of charges of rape and sexual assault against his girlfriend, but the matter remains a matter of great controversy until now.
According to Romano, Manchester United would welcome the sale of Greenwood next summer to get rid of this headache, but Barcelona is not the club that will try to include the English star.
The Catalan club clearly has other plans to support the attacking line next summer, not including Greenwood, even if its cost will not be as expensive as the expected options on the Blaugrana table.
It is noteworthy that the president of Getafe announced that he will try to keep Greenwood for another year, while the player has been linked to more than one other English club in the past few days.
