The Relevo network denied reports circulating that Bayer Leverkusen is seeking to sign Cristiano Ronaldo next summer.
Rumors have spread in recent weeks that the German club, at the direct request of its coach Xabi Alonso, wants to sign Ronaldo and bring him back to the world of European football.
But the latest report confirms that these rumors are baseless, and that Leverkusen in no way intends to sign a contract with the 39-year-old.
At the same time, Alonso, despite his great appreciation for Ronaldo, believes that his style is not compatible with his current philosophy, and is not in line with the Leverkusen project, which currently includes only young players.
Thus, it is confirmed that Ronaldo will remain with Al-Nassr Saudi Arabia next season, until the end of his contract in the summer of 2025.
Saudi media have confirmed that Al-Nasr officials are working to renew Ronaldo’s contract for at least another year, and that things are progressing positively between the two parties.
Ronaldo is considered the highest-paid player in Saudi football, as his annual salary, including bonuses, image rights, etc., reaches 250 million euros.
