Cristiano Ronaldo asked the management of his club Al-Nassr to sign a new player to succeed Sadio Mane in the left wing position, although the task of including this star seems very difficult.
The talk here, according to caughtoffside, is about Aston Villa star Moussa Diaby.
Mane’s departure from Al-Nassr has become almost certain this summer, but there is disagreement so far about his next destination, as some reports indicate that he will remain in the Saudi League, and others say that he will join a Turkish club.
Al-Nassr’s search for an alternative to the Senegalese international has already begun, and as is usual, Ronaldo will assist his club’s management in this task, and he presented the first proposal represented by Diaby.
From a practical standpoint, it seems that including the 24-year-old is very difficult after his very distinguished performances with Aston Villa last season and in light of the fact that the English club will play the Champions League next season.
However, Al-Nassr management intends to try with Diaby again, after a failed first attempt in the summer of 2023 when the player preferred the English offer to the huge Saudi offer.
It is noteworthy that Diaby played 54 matches with Aston Villa in all tournaments, scoring 10 goals and assisting 9 others. His contract at Villa Park is still extended until 2028, knowing that he joined them for 55 million euros, which will make the value of Al-Nassr’s purchase of him much greater than that.
