Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that his move to the Saudi League was not because of money, but rather because of his great passion for football and his desire to achieve achievements there.
Ronaldo is the highest-paid player in the world and in the Saudi League, with a salary exceeding 200 million euros annually, noting that his contract with Al-Nassr ends in the summer of 2026.
In a documentary on the Netflix platform about the Saudi League, Cristiano Ronaldo appeared and responded to everyone who says that money is what drives him.
The 39-year-old said, “They say that Cristiano is in Saudi Arabia only for money.”
He added, “This is not true, I still have the passion and I am here to win.”
Ronaldo’s words are in line with what he said at the press conference to introduce him at Al-Nassr in 2023, when he announced that he came to write glory in Asia after finishing his work in Europe.
In practice, Ronaldo failed to achieve his goal, as he has not achieved any official championship with Al-Nassr so far over the course of a year and a half, but he has achieved great individual numbers.
The Portuguese international played 79 matches with Al-Nassr in all tournaments, during which he scored 68 goals and made 18 others.
