Al-Riyadiah newspaper revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is committed to continuing Luis Castro as coach of Al-Nassr Club next season.
The future of the Portuguese coach was at stake after failing to achieve any official championship with Al-Nassr in the past season.
According to the latest report, Ronaldo informed the management of “Fares Najd” that Castro is the most suitable coach for the team, and that he can reap what he built last season in the next season.
Because of Ronaldo’s recommendation, as well as the special relationship between Castro with the rest of the players, and after analyzing the season, it was decided that Castro would continue with the capital club for at least another year.
It is assumed that the administration will provide greater support to Al-Nassr next summer with major deals, and Castro will be given the opportunity to choose them while sending him a clear message of the necessity of achieving all titles in the new season.
It is noteworthy that the Portuguese coach led Al-Nassr to occupy second place in the Saudi League, and also lost the King’s Cup final to Al-Hilal, in addition to bidding farewell to the AFC Champions League in the quarter-finals.
Overall, the 62-year-old led Al-Nassr in 48 matches in all tournaments, winning 34 and drawing 6, while suffering only 8 defeats.
