Tunisian football legend, Tarek Dhiab, launched a major attack against Cristiano Ronaldo, and considered that he has become a “burden” on the Portuguese national team, and that his country should give the opportunity to other players.
Dhiab’s statements came during his presence in the analytical studio of “beIN Sports” channels for the match between Portugal and Poland in the European Nations League, which the “sailors” won 3-1.
The Tunisian commented on Ronaldo scoring one of Portugal’s goals, saying, “We all know that Ronaldo would have scored today.”
He also added, “In the group stage, Ronaldo is the best player in the world, but where is he in the final rounds with the national team?”
He continued, “Ronaldo played all the Euro matches and was not good, Portugal must prepare another player to play in his place.”
He concluded, “Roberto Martinez does not have the courage to put Ronaldo on the bench, unlike what Santos did previously. Ronaldo has become a burden on Portugal and they must get rid of him.”
It is noteworthy that the 39-year-old is the historical top scorer for the Portuguese national team and national teams in general, with 133 goals.
