Cristiano Ronaldo, the star of Al-Nasr, is on the cusp of achieving a historic record by all standards if he succeeds in clinching the title of top scorer in the Saudi League for this season.
If “The Don” is crowned top scorer, the Portuguese star will become the first player in football history to win the top scorer award in 4 different leagues.
Ronaldo has previously achieved the top scorer in the Spanish League with Real Madrid, the top scorer in the Italian League with Juventus, and before that the top scorer in the English Premier League with Manchester United.
The 39-year-old shares the current historical record of achieving the top scorer title in 3 different leagues with the Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy, the former Real Madrid player, and Luis Suarez, the former Barcelona striker and the current American Inter Miami player.
Ronaldo can resolve this clash and enter football history from its widest gates if he achieves the Saudi League top scorer award, which seems very within reach given the reality of things now.
Ronaldo is the top scorer in the Roshan League with 26 goals, and the closest player to him is Aleksandar Mitrovic, the Al Hilal striker, with 22 goals. However, the Serbian will be out of action for a month and a half due to injury, with only 9 rounds remaining until the end of the competition.
Thus, the Portuguese is logically close to achieving the top scorer title unless a miracle occurs, and with it he continues to write history in the world of football with his extraordinary goals.
