Announcements continue about the lists of teams participating in Euro 2024, and on Tuesday, the teams of Portugal and England announced their lists for the tournament to be held in Germany.
Cristiano Ronaldo was at the top of the Portugal national team list, as usual, and perhaps the relatively surprising news was the presence of his Al-Nasr teammate Otavio on the list as well.
Although Portugal’s list was almost devoid of surprises, the England national team’s list was filled with steps that were not expected from coach Gareth Southgate.
Southgate ruled out Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, despite his great support for the player in recent months during his decline in performance, but he said that he saw players more deserving of being in the Euro with the Three Lions than him.
At the same time, Southgate excluded Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho despite his recent brilliance, while he included Luke Shaw despite his long absence through injury and his lack of regular participation this season with Manchester United.
Below we review together Portugal’s list and England’s list for Euro 2024.
