Ronaldo Misses Penalty, Scores as Portugal Beats Denmark (Video)

Cristiano Ronaldo was undoubtedly the center of attention after his performance during Portugal’s 1-0 defeat to Denmark in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals.

After losing the first leg 1-0 in Copenhagen, Ronaldo took over the captaincy in the second leg and put in a superb performance, leading his country to the semifinals with a 5-3 victory in Lisbon.

Before the match, Ronaldo was honored by the Guinness Book of World Records as the player with the most international wins in football history.

Just five minutes into the match, Portugal were awarded a penalty kick, but Ronaldo’s execution was extremely poor and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel brilliantly saved it.

Luck finally smiled on Ronaldo, who finally scored in the 72nd minute after Portugal had missed a long chance in the second half, after the ball rebounded off the post and he fired into the Danish net.

Ronaldo did not play in extra time and was replaced by Goncalo Ramos, who scored the fifth goal for Al-Nassr.

With this goal, the Al-Nassr star reached his 929th career goal, moving further ahead of the all-time top scorer for national teams with 135 goals.
