Cristiano Ronaldo refused to confirm that he will not play again in the Champions League before the end of his career, during his attendance at the group stage draw.
The Don’s statements in which he opened the door to return to playing in Europe come a few days after other statements in which he said that he wanted to retire with Al-Nassr Saudi Club.
During the draw, Ronaldo was honored as the competition’s all-time top scorer, and commented by saying, “This award means a lot to me, the Champions League is the most important and valuable tournament in my sports career.”
He also added, “My memories in the Champions League are really great, I remember the first tournament I won with Manchester United, and I must mention Real Madrid, without them I would not have achieved 4 other titles.”
He concluded, “Returning to Europe? Who knows, I may return to play in the Champions League in the future, let’s see what happens.”
It remains to be noted that Ronaldo previously confirmed that he has not yet made a decision regarding the date of his retirement, whether from football in general or internationally with the Portuguese national team.
