Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo considered that Vinicius Junior was more deserving of the 2024 Ballon d’Or than Rodri.
The Don’s statements came on the sidelines of his participation in the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, which he considered more logical and fair than the Ballon d’Or.
Ronaldo said about Vinicius, who was also crowned the best player in 2024 from Globe Soccer, “Vinicius should have won the Ballon d’Or.”
He also added, “From my point of view, it was very clear, what happened was not fair, and that’s why I love the Globe Soccer Award, they are honest.”
Vinicius commented on Ronaldo’s statements by venerating the Portuguese star, saying, “If Ronaldo says I’m the best, then I’m the best!”.
In a related context, Ronaldo spoke about his former club Real Madrid and said, “People did not expect Real Madrid to be good after the start of the season, but look at them now, they are ahead of Barcelona.”
“If I had to bet on a team to win the Champions League, I would bet on Real Madrid,” he concluded.
