German football legend Dietmar Hamann launched a strong attack on Cristiano Ronaldo and considered him selfish because of his crying during the match between Portugal and Slovenia in Euro 2024.
The Al-Nasr star missed a penalty kick in extra time, after which he burst into tears due to his guilt, but fortunately for him, he succeeded in scoring a penalty kick after that, and Portugal won 3-0 and qualified for the quarter-finals.
Hamann spoke about the incident and attacked Ronaldo, saying, “I have to respond to those who say that Ronaldo has become a player for the team. These are nonsense words. Once again, he has shown his true colors.”
He also added, “I missed the penalty kick and started crying. There is a team of 26 players, 20 technical staff, and 30,000 fans around you. It’s not always about you.”
Haman continued the attack, “I think he was out of the match after crying. Once you show your feelings, it’s over. It was the right moment for the coach to keep him out of the match.”
He concluded, “Ronaldo only thinks about himself. He scored the penalty kick and apologized to the fans. He did not need to apologize. He will start the next match but will lose to France.”
