Andre Cury, agent of Barcelona star Vitor Roque, made fiery statements in which he attacked the Catalan club and coach Xavi Hernandez, and threatened to leave his client permanently next season.
Since joining last January, Roque has only participated in 300 minutes with Barcelona, none of which were in the Champions League, and he has scored only two goals.
Cury complains of Xavi Hernandez’s poor treatment of him, and said in an interview with Catalunya Radio, “It does not make sense to bring in a Brazilian international player and start giving him the opportunity from the first moment, then another match, and then stop.”
He also added, “He scored two goals and then disappeared inexplicably. Xavi doesn’t even talk to the boy. I don’t understand what’s happening.”
When it was possible that he might leave on loan next summer, he replied, “No, it is a dangerous option for a young player. In this case, we will demand his departure permanently.”
He continued, “The best option would be to stay in Barcelona, but if he is not given the opportunity there, we will start looking for another club.”
He continued, “No one understands why Xavi does not give him the opportunity and does not talk to him in the first place. What is happening is not right. We will discuss this with Barcelona soon.”
Cury set an example for Real Madrid in the way it deals with young Brazilian players, saying, “Look what happened to Vinicius at Real Madrid. He needed two and a half years of playing and became one of the best in the world.”
He concluded, “Here in Barcelona, it was only two months ago and then chaos broke out and people wanted to kill Rocky instead of helping him.”
