Salah announces: I am closer to leaving Liverpool than staying!

Mohamed Salah made fiery statements about his future with Liverpool, during which he confirmed that he has not received an offer from the English club so far to renew, becoming closer to leaving than continuing with the Reds.

The statements of the Egyptian international came after he contributed to Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over Southampton on Sunday by scoring two goals, making him the second top scorer in the Premier League after Erling Haaland with 10 goals.

Salah was asked during his exit from St. Mary’s Stadium about his future, and he said, “I am probably closer to leaving Liverpool than staying, I have not received any offers from the club yet.”

He also added, “We are now about to enter December and I have not received offers to continue at Liverpool, I will most likely leave.”

He continued, “I have spent many years at this club, there is no club like it in the world, but there are no offers to renew, in the end the matter is not in my hands.”

“I love Liverpool fans and they love me too, but as I said in the end it’s not up to me or the fans, let’s wait but I haven’t received any offers and that’s very disappointing.”

Salah was asked about the possibility of retiring if he leaves Liverpool, to which he replied: “Retirement? I definitely won’t retire soon, I’m focusing this season and I want to win the Premier League and the Champions League.”

He concluded: “I’m trying to enjoy football, I’m a very professional player and everyone can see how committed I am in training, and I will continue to play at the highest level for as long as possible.”

It is worth noting that Salah’s contract at Anfield expires at the end of the current season, and starting from January 2025 he can sign for any club to move to for free next June.
