Salah confirms Liverpool contract renewal negotiations are complicated

Mohamed Salah confirmed that his contract renewal negotiations with Liverpool are complicated, without clarifying the details.

The Egyptian star’s statements came on the sidelines of the amazing performance he presented against West Ham, which was crowned with a goal and two assists in the Reds’ 5-0 victory on Sunday.

After the match, Salah was asked about the renewal negotiations, to which he replied, “No, we are very far from that, and I do not want to discuss anything in the media.”

The English media had revealed that the dispute between Liverpool and Salah is over the duration of the contract, in light of the player’s insistence on a long-term contract, and the club’s desire for a one-year contract.

The 31-year-old’s salary is also an obstacle to the negotiations, as Salah wants to receive 400 thousand pounds sterling per week, which Liverpool’s management has so far rejected.

In his interview after the West Ham match, Salah was asked if he saw himself as a candidate for the next Ballon d’Or, to which he replied: “The only thing on my mind is that I want Liverpool to win the league, and I want to be part of that.”

Salah has contributed to 37 goals this season with Liverpool in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and creating 17 others.
