Mohamed Salah believes that he has developed so much in scoring goals that he cannot score a small number of them in one season with Liverpool or else “the fans will kill him”.
The Egyptian star spoke about this matter in an interview with Liverpool Echo and said, “My scoring talent has developed over time. When I was in Roma, I only scored 30 goals in two seasons.”
He also added, “Now if I score 30 goals in two seasons with Liverpool, the fans will kill me.”
He continued, “The expectations have become very high towards me after I scored a large number of goals in my first season with Liverpool and won the Golden Boot, so I understand what is happening.”
The 32-year-old also talked about the current Liverpool, saying, “The team is playing well so far, and so am I. All we hope for is to maintain continuity and try to win a major title this season.”
It is noteworthy that Salah has scored 3 goals and made the same number in the first 3 rounds of the Premier League.
Overall, Salah is Liverpool’s fifth-highest scorer in history with 214 goals in 353 appearances since joining the Reds in the summer of 2017.
