Salah saves Liverpool with a touch and a penalty against Southampton

Mohamed Salah continued his great brilliance this season, scoring two goals that saved Liverpool from stumbling against Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium in the English Premier League.

Liverpool took the lead in the first half with a goal through Dominic Szoboszlai in the 30th minute, but the home team managed to equalize through Fernandes, then Armstrong scored the second goal in the 56th minute.

Here came Salah’s turn to save the Reds, and the beginning was with an equalizer in the 65th minute with a more than wonderful touch.

In the 85th minute, Liverpool got a penalty kick that the Egyptian was waiting for and he put it to the right of the Southampton goalkeeper and celebrated by taking off his shirt.

With these two goals, Salah has scored more than 10 goals in every season he played with Liverpool in the Premier League over the past 8 years, knowing that his best record was in 2017-18 with 32 goals.

Salah became the first player this season in the Premier League to contribute to 15 goals, with 10 goals scored himself and 5 assists.

It is worth noting that this is the fifth consecutive match in which Salah has scored a goal, and it is his second longest scoring streak after scoring in 7 consecutive Premier League matches in 2021.

Thanks to Salah’s double, Liverpool raised its points tally to 31 points at the top, 8 points ahead of the closest pursuer, Manchester City.
