Salah writes history with his goal and assist against Chelsea (Video)

Mohamed Salah continued his brilliance with Liverpool and writing history in the English Premier League after scoring a goal and making another in his team’s victory over Chelsea on Saturday.

The Egyptian star’s goal came from a penalty kick, before he scored the second goal for Curtis Jones in the match that ended 2-1 in favor of Arne Slot’s squad.

Thanks to this goal, the 32-year-old reached ninth place in the Premier League’s all-time scorers list with 162 goals.

Salah is tied with Jermain Defoe and only one goal remains to equal Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, who has 163 goals.

Salah needs 13 goals to reach Thierry Henry and 15 goals to equal Frank Lampard’s record, although the difference between him and Alan Shearer, who holds the lead, is large, as the Newcastle legend has scored 260 goals.

Salah’s assist for Jones’ goal took him to 74 assists, equalling Thierry Henry’s tally of Premier League goals. Salah has now scored and assisted in the same game 33 times in the Premier League, 11 more than his closest competitor, Heung-Min Son.
